William “Bill” Earnest Burnette, Jr., 84, of Nebo, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Deer Park Health and Rehabilitation.
A native of McDowell County, he was born January 19, 1940 to the late William Earnest Burnette, Sr. and Thelma Harmon Burnette.
Bill formerly worked at Cross Cotton Mill, and he later retired from Drexel Furniture. He enjoyed wood-working in his spare time, especially building chairs. He was also a saw miller.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Gouge Burnette; three children, Alvin Burnette, Robert “Bobby” Burnette, and Billy Burnette (Kim); and two sisters, Betty Fletcher and Flora Gardin.
