William J. Cardarelli

William J. Cardarelli, 80, a longtime Poughkeepsie resident, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on February 28, 2025.
Born October 10, 1944, he was the son of the late Louis and Helen Chizmar Cardarelli. He was a graduate of Mt. Carmel Parochial School in Poughkeepsie.
Bill proudly served in the United States Army in the early 60's before the Vietnam War. He was a former member of the Arlington American Legion Post #1302.
Mr. Cardarelli worked for Kimco Real Estate in Poughkeepsie as the Manager of the 44 Plaza for 25 years. He was also the self-employed owner of the former Copy Mart Store and M & M Maintenance, both in Poughkeepsie.
On March 10, 1963, at Regina Coeli Church in Hyde Park, he married the former Mary L. Kinney. She was the love of his life. His wife of 62 years survives at home.
He is also survived by daughters, Laura Cardarelli - Harrand (Kevin) of Hyde Park, Michelle Manfredi (Jeffrey) of Tampa, FL, and Billie Jo Cardarelli of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Cardarelli (Jennifer) of Poughkeepsie; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Lynn Cardarelli, and sister, Gloria Benes.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral services and military honors will take place at 11 AM, Monday, March 10th at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie. Entombment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veteran's Organization of your choice.
