William "Bill" Carpenter, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, December, 11, 2024. He was born on March 20, 1962 and was 62 years old.
After graduating from Belaire High School, Bill proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He later became a skilled craftsman and developed a love of carpentry, tools, and working with his hands. This passion carried over into the kitchen where Bill enjoyed cooking large family meals. Fried turkeys and boiling crawfish were his specialties, with his generous and giving heart often gifting food to friends and neighbors. Bill also was an avid fisherman and hunter who had a heartfelt respect for the natural world. The true love of his life, however, was his wife, Lori, to whom he was married for 30 years. Together, they raised four children who loved him deeply and depended on him for fatherly care and advice until the very end. Above all, Bill was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose presence will be greatly missed.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Lori Carpenter; daughter, Stefani Biggerstaff; sons, Michael "Bubba" Ott, Justin Carpenter, and Jason Carpenter; sister Cindy Drew; grandchildren, Kayden Colson-Ott, William "Tanner" Biggerstaff, and Chloe Mae Carpenter; and nephews, Robert McIntyre, Nathan Shirey, and Derek Shirey. Bill is predeceased by his parents, Bill Sr. and June Carpenter, and his sister, Jinny Mae Farris.
