William D. Christian

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Dean Christian Sr., affectionately known to all as "Billy," and to his fellow riders in the American Legion as "Ironhead." He was a man who lived life with passion, finding joy in every endeavor and connection.
Billy's love for football was legendary, particularly his unwavering devotion to Alabama football. Yet, his enthusiasm knew no bounds, as every weekend during the season was a "football weekend" to him. He cherished sharing stories of his impactful years as a firefighter and paramedic, often reminiscing about the camaraderie and bonds forged with his colleagues. His
career in the petroleum industry also brought him immense satisfaction, introducing him to many incredible individuals who became lifelong friends. Among his most treasured pastimes were the motorcycle rides he shared with his beloved wife, Lisa, moments of freedom and togetherness that he held dear. It was during these rides, especially with the American Legion, that he proudly carried the name "Ironhead."
Billy was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Charlie and Flossie Parker, and William and Frances Christian; his loving parents, Bill and Nancy Christian; his dear brother, Chuck Christian; his mother-in-law, Linda Gates McNew, his sister-in-law, Lori Baugh, and his aunt Gaynell (James) Lanier.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Christian; his loving children, Hope (Robby) Scroggins, Dean (Katie) Christian, and Terrianne Brown. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Carson, Elliot, Elijah, and Abel, who brought immense joy to his life. Billy will be deeply missed by his father-in-law Mike McNew, sister-in-law Angie Christian, and brother-in-law James Baugh, as well as his favorite child and loyal four-legged sidekick, Bugsy. He also leaves behind a multitude of cousins and friends whose lives he touched with his warmth and humor.
