William “Bill” Cody Claypool passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024. Bill was born January 25, 1960, in Beckley, West Virginia to Cody and Kathryn Bragg Claypool before moving to North Carolina.

Bill, affectionately known as Grandpa "Bull" to his grandchildren and cherished by all who knew him, was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He touched the lives of those around him with his gentle spirit, infinite patience, and unwavering dedication. A true lover of the great outdoors, Bill found solace and joy in fishing, camping, and being in the mountains. He had love for playing video and board games and enjoyed moments of shared laughter with those he loved, with his adored pet, Lucy at his side. Always a silent leader, when he spoke, his words carried the weight of experience and wisdom, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to be under his guidance. A simple man who loved God and his family, he was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church for more than 30 years. Bill worked tirelessly throughout his life, achieving an impressive 38 year career with Concrete Supply Co.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Shebra Claypool; their three girls, Alyssa Eudy (Garrett) of Rockwell; Katie Billington (Morgan) of Charlotte and Keley Brennan (Jim) of Huntersville; five grandchildren Samuel, Betsy, Joseph, James, and William; parents Cody and Katie Claypool of Midland; brother Bruce (Linda) of Mt. Pleasant, NC; and sisters Cindy (Terry) of Rockwell, Kathy Helvey of Concord, Tina Claypool of Harrisburg, and Susan Claypool, of Concord. He is preceded in death by his dear brother, Boyd Claypool.

A celebration of life will be on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Mallard Creek Campus, officiated by Ric Blazi. Family will be receiving guests from 10:00am to 11:00am. Harrisburg Funeral and Cremation is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation in honor of Bill’s deep pride in having cruised every last inch of the Parkway on his motorcycle.
