William Connolly, a man whose boundless energy and kind-hearted nature left an indelible mark on all who knew him, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, in Romulus, Michigan, having been born in Plymouth, Michigan, on March 23, 1940. William was a devoted family man, a hardworking entrepreneur, and a lover of all creatures big and small.
The son of the late Edward Connolly and Dorothy Marie Daniles, William was raised with a solid foundation of love and family values. His beloved wife, Mary Ann Connolly, preceded him in death, leaving behind a legacy of love in their children: Margaret, William, and Robert. William and Mary were married for nearly 44 years. Through his children, William's vibrant spirit continued to thrive in his cherished grandchildren: Michelle, Nova, Dakota, Megan, Steven, Robert Jr., Cassandra, Shane, and great-grandchildren: Emily, Violet, Avarae, Aubrey, Raven, Aurelia, Blake, Delaney, Carly, Braiden, Leia, Madison. His siblings, the late Edward and Richard, and his sister, Carol, also played an integral role in his life's story.
Though his formal education concluded with middle school, William's intelligence and determination were self-evident. His strong will and adept hands led him through a successful career as a roofer, eventually establishing his own company, Connolly & Sons Roofing. His reputation as a hard worker extended beyond his professional life and could be seen in the passionate way he engaged with life itself, never settling for a moment's rest.
William possessed an adventurous spirit which was reflected in the numerous states he called home throughout his life. His love for animals was apparent to anyone who visited his home, where he could often be found caring for the birds and squirrels in his front yard. William's passion for the past was a conduit for rich storytelling, as he would eagerly share memories and life lessons learned along his well-traveled path.
He was known for his loving nature, unyielding kindness, and the adventurous tales that accompanied his ever-present smile. William's capacity for love seemed infinite, and it radiated from him, touching the hearts of not just his family, but all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
William Connolly's zest for life, profound work ethic, and the love he carried for his family constitute an enduring legacy. His life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and dedication, shaping a life story that will continue to inspire generations to come. William will be dearly missed, yet his spirit will remain a guiding light for his family and the many lives he touched.
