William Samuel Crum (Bill) was born to William Stanley Crum and Marie Elizabeth (Brunell) Crum on February 15, 1938, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. There Bill attended Washington Elementary and Bloomer Junior High Schools, ultimately graduating high school from Abraham Lincoln in 1956. He then attended Omaha University (University of Nebraska at Omaha) and then Creighton University for the study of pharmaceutical medicine, until the Lord called him to the ministry. Bill graduated with ordination from Minnesota Bible College where he met his future wife, Deanna Arlene Kraemer. The couple married on August 16, 1961, in Deanna's hometown of Storm Lake, Iowa.
Bill was a loyal husband to Deanna and devoted father to his two sons, Matthew and Stuart. Bill had several pastoral assignments during his service as an ordained minister and made many friends across the metro area and country. His focus was on the areas of Council Bluffs and Omaha, serving with teaching, counsel, and prayer support for the local Christian community. Bill always held the First Century Christian Church in highest regard as the model for modern church conduct and function. Much of his spare time was spent in Biblical study, teaching and counseling those with a heart to know God. Christians of all walks sought his counsel and were rewarded with deeper knowledge and understanding. He was a man dedicated to his work, and will be remembered for his sense of humor, generous heart, service of his Lord and Savior, and obedience to Christ's command to make disciples of all nations.
