He is preceded in his death by his sister, Betty Davis and his brothers, Freddie Lee Davis, John Thomas Davis, Jr., Howard Davis, and Andrew Davis. William joined Parker's Chapel A.M.E at an early age, beginning a lifelong relationship with Christ. His life was a testimony to God's redemptive power and enduring mercy. He attended the Monroe County Public School System. A dedicated worker, he was employed by Pippin Brothers for many years until his retirement. Following a decline in his health, he became a resident at Pruitt Health Nursing Home, where he was deeply loved by the entire staff and fellow residents. Known for his kind heart and uplifting spirit, he remained active at the facility and was honored to serve as the President of the Bingo Club as well as the President of Residents Counsel. Even in his later years, he brought joy to those around him and continued to lead with grace, humor, and compassion. His presence was a blessing to many and will be remembered for the warmth he shared and the lives he touched. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children; Valerie Johnson (Winston) of Columbus OH, LaTanya Davis of Columbus OH, Tonya D. Stewart (Dwight) of Columbus, OH, William G. Davis of Columbus, OH, and Cedric Davis of Columbus, OH; sisters Farrie Smith (Joseph) of Culloden, GA, Becky Furlow of Hartford, CT, Harriet Ofuasia (Ben) of Barnesville GA; brother Marvin Furlow of Hartford, CT; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
