William Dunning Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Albert & Burpee Funeral & Cremation Services on Jan. 7, 2025.
William L. "Bill" Dunning, a man remembered for his unparalleled kindness, selflessness, and thoughtfulness, left this world peacefully on January 3, 2025, at the age of 36. Born on October 14, 1988, in Bath, Maine, Bill grew into a remarkable man who touched the lives of all who knew him. His final days were spent surrounded by the love and warmth of his family in Lewiston, Maine.
Bill was the cherished son of David Dunning and Angela Robbins, and beloved step-son to Monica Dunning. He was a beacon of light and guidance to his adoring daughter, Hopey Dunning. His brothers, Greg Doray and Zachary Dunning, along with his sister, Raina McPhee, and his grandparents John and Hope Dunning, will remember Bill as the solid rock of their family, always there with a listening ear and comforting hug. He was predeceased by his grandparents William & Eunice Potter who would also be very proud of the man he had become.
From his early days in Alna, Bill's compassionate spirit was evident. He grew up with a heart open to everyone, making friends easily with his warm smile and genuine interest in others. Bill carried this gift into adulthood, where his selflessness shone through in his day-to-day interactions and his dedication to his family and friends.
Above all, Bill was a devoted father. His greatest joy was spending time with his daughter, Hopey, whether they were exploring the great outdoors or curled up at home with a good book. His love for her was evident in everything he did, and it is a legacy that will continue to live on through her.
Bill's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will forever be a guiding light in their lives. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and that his legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.
As we say goodbye to William L. Dunning, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man who was truly the best of us. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
