William Lawrence "Junior" Edwards Jr.

William "Junior" Lawrence Edwards, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the age of 61 after a courageous battle against colon cancer. He was a commercial fisherman, star of Swamp People and was known as the King of the Swamp. Junior was a resident and native of Bayou Sorrel, LA. Visitation will be held at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 5 to 9pm and will resume on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 10am until religious service at 2pm, conducted by Pastor Troy Romig. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Junior is survived by his wife of 44 years, Theresa Edwards; son, William "Willie" Edwards, III and wife Sherrie; daughter, Letha Daley; grandchildren, Austin Daley, William "Lil Willie" Edwards, IV and wife Victoria, Landon Edwards, Randy Edwards, II, Sierra Edwards and Nathan Winters; siblings, Mary Berthelot and husband Daniel, Winnie Mae Edwards, Wayne Edwards, Westley Edwards and wife Jennifer, and Frankie Edwards and wife Clorisa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his son, Randy Edwards; granddaughters, Michaela and Katelyn Edwards; parents, William "Buster" and Margie Wheat Edwards; brother, Benjamin "Ben Ben" Edwards; sister, Julia Daley; and in-laws, Robert and Betty Daley. Pallbearers will be Willie, Lil Willie, Landon and Lil Randy Edwards, Austin Daley, Westley and Wayne Edwards, and Andrew "Woody" Clark. Junior was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. He was truly a simple man who made his and his family's life by surviving off the land.
