The Williamson family sends loving thoughts to all Bill´s family. Your entire family shared so many good memories with all of us. Our dad is having some memory issues but he never forgets the Evers family. Bill and James were a dangerous duo!

Bill Evers was a pivotal person in my life, someone meant to be, and the one and only MAYOR of Bradenton. I met him covering the Manatee County beat for Channel 40(7). The city council meetings were always entertaining, thanks in large part to his personality and presence. Years later, he kindly hired me as Public Information Officer, a job that enabled me to meet my wife, Luvy, the administrative assistant for Earl Crawley, the mayor's loyal public works director and friend. The job, in addition to providing many interesting experiences, led me to 27 years of consulting work at the National Emergency Training Center in Maryland. Thank you, Mayor Evers, for believing in me. Thank you for being a great boss and a friend. And thank you for calling me "Hav" rather than Haven, something that had not happened since I was a kid. Many people miss you, sir!

He was a very sweet man that I had the privilege of knowing growing up in Cortez. He was always smiling and gave the best hugs! He was a good honest family man and he served his community well. Fly high Bill, Heaven gained an amazing angel. You will be missed!

Bill Evers is an extraordinary man. He spent his entire adult life serving his community, his state, his county, and his beloved City of Bradenton.
He was a man of great foresight that saw a dying downtown and transformed it into a thriving government center.
He accomplished so many things there isn´t time or paper to write it all. He loved his city and its people. He felt so much love and empathy for all he was responsible for. He spent his life helping the poor, homeless, downtrodden and the forgotten.
Out of office most people don´t know that he spent decades with the Salvation Army and fed hungry children and loved and admired activists that fought so hard for those in need.
I shall miss him terribly.
He was a loyal friend.
He was dedicated to his family.
He was funny.
We never stopped laughing right up to our last phone call a couple of weeks ago.
Rest in eternal peace, my friend.
Love to Jane.
I love you.
