William Davis Floyd, born on December 18, 1943, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away on December 6, 2025, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, surrounded by loved ones.
William, or commonly referred to as Sonny, grew up in Brandon, Mississippi and attended Brandon High School. After graduating from high school, Sonny dedicated his life to becoming a service technician and served many years at Sears before retiring.
Sonny is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Adell Floyd, his mother, Violet Davis Floyd, and his two sisters, Norma F. Battle and Nancy F. Harrist.
Sonny is survived by his beloved wife, Ella Ruth Floyd, his son, Max Davis Floyd, his two daughters, Nancy Leigh Smith and Catherine Darlene Holly, and his sister, Bobbie Jean Wood of Pensacola, Florida. Sonny also leaves behind 6 grandchildren as well as 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Ott at Lee Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 5 to 8 pm and December 10, 2025, at 9 to 11 am. A funeral service will be held after visitation on December 10 at 11 am with a burial to follow at Brandon Memorial Gardens located on Highway 468.
