William H. Fordney Jr.

William H. Fordney, Jr., 84, entered into rest on Saturday March 16, 2024 at SpiriTrust Lutheran Nursing Home. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Leinaweaver) Fordney.
He was born January 29, 1940 in Lancaster, PA. The son of the late William H. and Emma N. (Gable) Fordney.
William was a CPA and founding partner at Philip R Friedman and Associates accounting firm. He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church and was choir director at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church for 15 years. He was director of the Youth Group Beechtree Players for 7 years performing musicals and he played the trombone at various gatherings. He was also an avid woodworker and member of the Southern Central PA Woodturners club and Cumberland Valley Woodturners club. Additionally, he enjoyed collecting chess sets and was a member of Chess Collectors International and had a fondness for the Fordney family heritage in flintlock gun making. He helped to tend the community garden at Sprenkle Village where he lived.
The services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. York is assisting with arrangements.
Including his wife Barbara, William is also survived by his children W. Mark Fordney of Aiken, SC, Jonathan R. Fordney of Albuquerque, NM, David E. Fordney of The Villages, FL, Margaret A. Fordney of Post Falls, ID, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, twin sisters Phyllis Giberson of Millersville, PA and Elaine Blouse of Mauldin, SC; stepsons Stephen Lahey and Karl Lahey, both of Lincoln, NE.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret D. (Bowman) Fordney, a son Matthew P. Fordney and a grandson Matthew Fordney.
