William "Bill" Joseph French, age 77 of Marion, passed away Thursday November 20, 2025.
Born on January 3, 1948, in Crooksville, Ohio, Bill was the son of Howard M. and Katie I. (Russell) French. On October 25, 1968, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sandy N. Radcliff. Together they shared nearly 60 years of unwavering love, partnership, and devotion.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army and courageously fought in the Vietnam War. His dedication, bravery, and sense of duty were hallmarks of the man he was.
A true jack of all trades, Bill could fix just about anything-from plumbing to heating and air. For many years, he put his skill and work ethic to use with the Sears company, performing installations and maintenance and forming lasting relationships along the way.
Bill had a sweet tooth and never passed up a late-night snack. He loved settling in to watch scary "spook" movies, enjoyed camping and fishing, and had a lifelong fascination with trains. With a bit of an ornery streak, he was always ready with a teasing grin and a camera in hand-often snapping photos when no one expected it.
Above all, Bill adored his family. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
He is survived by his devoted wife Sandy N. French; daughter Kim (Brian) Sisson; grandchildren: Derek (Jamie) French, Cody Sisson, and Ashley (Brandon) Fields; great-grandchildren: Landon French, Carson French, Paisley French, Brynleigh Sisson and Maverick Sisson; and siblings: Elmer (Carolyn) French, Marilyn Moore, Ricky French and Vickie Kanniard.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; son Joe French, Jr. and siblings: Eloise Moore, Howard "Gene" French, Roger French, Randy French, and Larry French.
Visitation will be Tuesday November 25, 2025 at Snyder Funeral Homes, 360 East Center St., Marion from 10AM to 12Noon; funeral service will follow at 12Noon; burial will be in Agosta Cemetery, New Bloomington.
