Funeral Service for Mr. William J. Futral, 83, of Goodwater, Alabama, will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Elder Ken Milner and Elder Daniel Dean will officiate. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
William Jefferson Futral passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Russell Medical Center. Born on October 17, 1940 in Goodwater, Alabama, he was the son of Mr. Willie Pope Futral and Mrs. Rosa Ennis Gilliland Futral.
William is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Darling Futral of Goodwater, AL; daughter, Wendy Futral Anderson (Robby) of Wetumpka, AL; grandchildren, Jasmine Nichole Anderson of Wetumpka, AL and William "Will" Michael Anderson of Wetumpka, AL; brother, Jessie Cecil Futral (Carolyn) of Meridian, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents and infant brother, James A. Futral.
William was a member and deacon of Smyrna Primitive Baptist Church in Goodwater, AL. He worked for 45 years as a Supervisor at Russell Mill #6. He was well known for his farming skills including vegetables, fruit, honey bees, cane for sorghum and ribbon cane syrup, and cattle. He enjoyed selling at local farmer's markets.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Medical Staff at Russell Medical Center. They would also like to thank the many special friends that have helped William in his past few years.
