William (Bill) Gordon Garrett died on March 12, 2025. Beloved Husband to Delores Ann Garrett, Married for 40 years. He met Ann at Yesterday Once More, where he loved dancing with his wife. He was a wonderful father and grandfather to Mindy M. Pinell, stepfather to Emily McCloskey, Richard Boone (passed), Lorreta Moore. Grandfather to Brian Meldrum, Jessica Meldrum, and Tiffany Roark. Great-grandfather (Papa) to Jacquelynn Robles, Micheal Inman, Wyatt Roark, Benjamin Roark, Jerry Roark, and Zackary Roark along with 4 others. Great-great-grandfather/papi to Asher Robles. Brother to Arland David Garrett Sr. Uncle to Katherine Marie Garrett. He was preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy and Laura.
Bill was a jack of all trades, and a master at none unless you add cowboy or astronaut to the list. John Wayne and Jerry Springer were the men he idolized the most and that doesn't tell you how cool of a man Bill was I don't think you've been cultured enough. His silliness lit up a room, there is never a dull moment when you're never serious. As for the rest of us, we are to remember his grace in every cup of coffee, every western movie, and old country song that plays. He loved each and every one of you. He was the man that would give the shirt off his back to do anything possible to help the people he cared for. Today we celebrate his experience and hope he's up there dancing to Johnny Cash with a cup of whiskey, smiling down and waiting to say hello again.
Graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, March 17, 2025 at La Porte Cemetery, South 8th Street, La Porte, Texas.
