William J. "Jack" Garris, II of Kill Devil Hills, NC, formerly of Norfolk, VA, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, following a brief illness. He was born in Norfolk, VA, on January 26, 1951, to the late Robert E. Garris, Sr. and Travis Bell Garris.

Jack was a graduate of Granby High School, attended Old Dominion University, and served in the United States Marine Corps. After a brief period of working in the family business, he had a successful career in real estate. In 2000, Jack left Norfolk and continued his real estate career in Kill Devil Hills. He spent his retirement enjoying long days on the beach with a good book.

Left to cherish his memory are his three children, William J. Garris, III "Tripp" (Kathy), Brooks Lively (Josh), and Hunter Sigmon (Spencer). He is also survived by his siblings Misty Giles (Andy) and Bobby Garris (Neven), eight grandchildren, and a host of cousins. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Garris, Sr. and Travis Bell Garris.

Per Jack's wishes, his burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Adoration Hospice, 2224 S. Croatan Highway, Unit B, Nags Head, NC 27959.
