William Mark Gibson

William Mark Gibson, 66, of Murrells Inlet, SC, and formerly of Snellville, GA, passed away at home with his loving family beside him, Saturday, June 3, 2023. Mark was born in Tampa, FL to William "Bill" Dennard Gibson and Evielee Gibson O'Neill.
Mark enjoyed fishing, family game nights and playing computer games. He had a loving heart which showed in his devotion to visit shut-ins and nursing homes. He was a member of Pawleys Island Community Church and had a love for singing, especially in the church choir. Mark also enjoyed attending events such as Singing in the Sun, working puzzles, but mostly, he loved people.
In addition to his mother, Evielee Gibson O'Neill, Mark is survived by, his brother, Russell "Glen" Gibson; bonus siblings, Cathy, Christine, Jack, Caren, Timothy and Annie O'Neill; aunts, June Buchanan; Phyllis Lee Gibson; uncles, W.L. Buchanan; Herbert Bragg; first cousins, Julie and Richard Mortlock, Teri and Bubba Langford, Michele and Derek Altman, Michael and Michelle Buchanan, Jessie Korvanis, Philip and Terry Bragg, Clayton and Cory Bragg, and Janet and Alex Perrone; many second and third cousins and friends and neighbors.
In addition to his father, William, Mark was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Aline and Charles "Charlie" Gomillion; paternal grandparents, Alma Lucille and Edward Lane Gibson; stepfather, John O'Neill; uncle, Edward Lane Gibson, Jr.; and aunts, Barbara Ann Gibson and Lucille Gibson; and cousin, Beth Ann Gibson.
A graveside service will be held at the historic Snellville Cemetery in Georgia on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 2:00 pm with a visitation with family from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at Country Inn & Suites, 1852 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain, GA. A local memorial service will be held at Pawleys Island Community Church, 10304 Ocean Highway, Pawleys Island, SC, on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 am.
