William Gerald Hagberg, 53, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He was born on August 22, 1970, in Minot, North Dakota.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Alecia Bowlin Hagberg; son, Benjamin Hagberg; daughters, Madelyn Hagberg and Maryellen Hagberg; parents, Gerald Hagberg and Mary Janice Vanderburg Hagberg; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Beth (Brian) Lee, Christy Burk; other relatives also survive.
William graduated from Lee University and Dalton State College and was employed at Lowe’s Distribution Center.
Bill was a wonderful father and husband, ensuring everyone got together for games often. He was quick with a joke and quicker with a smile. He led himself with faith and was happy to chat with anyone who would listen. His favorite conversation topics were Jesus, his family, books, games, and terrible jokes. Bill put others before himself his whole life and raised his children to be as kind as he was.
Bill’s faith was evident in all parts of his life, but especially during his cancer battle. He always stayed positive and never lost his peace. He gave glory to God throughout his journey and was ready and excited to be with Him.
A gathering of friends will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society on this website.
