Sylvia Diane Carter, 75, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025. She was born in Dallas, Georgia, on March 29, 1950. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Stroup; sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Dale (Michelle) Carter, Jr. and Cecil Carter; brother, Jackie Witt.
She is survived by grandchildren, Nicole (Kelsie) Whitlock, Dale Carter III; daughter-in-law, Angela Carter; brother, Leonard Witt; sisters, Wanda Witt, Helen Witt; great-grandchildren, Jacob Nelson, James Nelson.
Sylvia was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a spit fire and could be a handful. She enjoyed reading in her spare time.
To honor her wishes, her body was cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
