William Hamburger Obituary
William Hamburger (Bill), a resident of Rydal Park in Jenkintown, PA, died peacefully on November 20, 2025, at the age of ninety.
Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Virginia (Ginger) nee O'Neill. He was a devoted father to his children Anne Marie Schulz, Christine Broderick, and his son, William (Billy), who passed away in 2016. He was "Pops" to his grandchildren David, John, Meredith, Claire, Nora, and Colin. Bill is also survived by his three brothers: Dr. Richard Hamburger, Joseph Hamburger, and Robert Hamburger.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA to William Charles (Charlie) and Margaretha Hamburger. He was a proud graduate of St. Joseph's Preparatory School '53 and Villanova University '57. Upon graduation from Villanova, he served proudly in the United States Army. Bill then worked his entire career for Sun Chemical Corporation, retiring as a regional sales manager. The National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers recognized Bill with the Printing Ink Pioneer Award in 1988.
Bill was also very involved with the community. He was a coach for the Huntingdon Valley Athletic Association, served on the Lower Moreland Planning Commission, and volunteered for many years as an election official. He was a member of Huntingdon Valley Country Club.
Bill will be remembered for his outgoing personality and famous one-liners that left many people laughing. He loved watching and talking about sports; specifically, Villanova basketball and the Phillies. Go Birds.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 29th at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church, Rydal, PA, at 10am, followed by a funeral mass at 11am. Internment will immediately follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
