Rev. William Maurice Hargrove, affectionately known as “Pop Pop,” passed away on February 22, 2026, at his residence. Born on January 16, 1969, in Newark, New Jersey, a life filled with joy, laughter, and service.
William served his country honorably in the United States Army before embarking on a fulfilling career as a commercial truck driver. His journey through life was enriched by a deep dedication to his work, family, and community.
A man of spirit and humor, Rev. Hargrove was known for his playful nature as a jokester and enjoyed entertaining friends and family with his rendition of songs, often singing the wrong lyrics but with genuine enthusiasm. His love for food, relishing the diverse flavors of different cuisines, brought people together around the dinner table, where laughter was always abundant.
William’s educational pursuits culminated in a master's degree in theology, embodying his commitment not only to his faith but also to guiding others spiritually. His impact on those who knew him will be profoundly felt, as he leaves behind cherished memories—moments filled with warmth and light that will be forever treasured.
William's life will be commemorated through a series of services held on March 2, 2026. The visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM, both at Dunn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 810 W Wilmington St, Burgaw, NC.
