William Louis Hart, age 88, of Netcong, NJ, died on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Hecktown Oaks in Easton, PA. Born in Hackettstown, NJ to the late Louis and Nora Hart, he was a resident of Netcong since 1963. William served in the Army during peacetime.
William was the owner of County Line Sport Shop in Hackettstown for many years prior to his retirement. He was an exempt member of Netcong Fire Co #2, as well as a lifelong member of the Stanhope-Netcong American Legion Ambulance Corp. As an avid historical gun collector, William was a member of the Forks of Delaware Historical Gun Club.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret in 2022, and his brother, Richard Hart He is survived by two daughters: Debra Begraft (Craig) and LuAnn Magnuson (Robert); five grandchildren: Kevin Begraft (Jennifer), Sean Begraft, Matthew Magnuson (Katie), Sarah Montogmery (Dan), and Jessica Tolentino (Sean); and four great- granddaughters: Kelsey and Audrey Begraft, Lily Magnuson and Eva Montgomery; and his companion Virginia Duimstra.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the Morgan Funeral Home, 31 Main St. Netcong NJ. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation on Friday at the funeral home at 11:00 AM, with interment at Stanhope Union Cemetery.
