William Heffelfinger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parker & Son Funeral Home - Lodi on Nov. 27, 2024.
William H. Heffelfinger II, 80, of Medina, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Lodi on April 25, 1944 to the late William H. and Miriam (Miner) Heffelfinger. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
After his graduation from Cloverleaf High School, Bill attended the Ohio State University on a track scholarship. He was inducted into the Medina County and Cloverleaf Sports Hall of Fame in 1993, and still holds the 200 m record at Cloverleaf High School.
Bill was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He was the owner of Heffelfinger Insurance in Lodi, was a member of the Lodi American Legion Post #523, cofounder of the Lodi Railroad Museum and a member of the Lodi – Harrisville Historical Society.
Bill was an avid collector of antiques. He loved his Harley Davidson and spending time with his beloved dog Hampton. Bill loved being able to make people laugh. His caring, loving spirit and his exuberant personality will not be gone, as he has left a piece of his kind spirit with everyone. We were blessed to have him for 80 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Annette Heffelfinger; daughters, Dena (Cat) Adams and Amber Perkins; grandchildren, Makayla Baker, Aubrey Perkins, and Bradley Perkins; siblings, Tom (Melinda) Heffelfinger, Robin Heffelfinger, Letha (Larry) Mapes, and Jon Heffelfinger; mother-in-law, Theodora Chadeayne; was the loving brother-in-law of Lon and Cher Lowery and Jen Hauff, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 3 to 6 PM at Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina Street, Lodi, where a memorial service for Bill will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 6 PM. Inurnment with military honors will be Thursday, Dec. 5, at 10:45 AM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve Medina or the Alzheimer's Association.
