William "Bill" Darwin Heitzman, 73, passed away on September 1, 2024, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, WA. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by loved ones. William was born to the late William Henry and Anita Joan McEwen on August 31, 1951, in Sunnyside, WA. Upon the unexpected passing of his father, William Henry McEwen, Anita remarried Dave Alexander Heitzman on April 8, 1955, and he went on to raise Bill as his own son.

After he graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1970, he moved back to Wenatchee, where he and Linda raised three children. He was employed at Branson Lumber, Schmitten Lumber, and Asamera Minerals, and eventually retired from Appleatchee as a groundsman and Facilities Manager. In March 1990, Bill and Linda divorced. He remarried in 1991 and went on to move to Manson, WA, Worley, ID, and later Spokane, WA. In July 2022, Bill moved back to Wenatchee, WA, where he has been residing at Colonial Vista. Throughout Bill's life, he took great joy in spending time with his family, whether it be fishing on the sand dunes on the Potholes Reservoir, hunting at Wahkiacus (goat camp) or Tiffany's Resort in Republic, WA. Bill also looked forward to every Memorial Day, where the family would brand cattle. He was dedicated to supporting his kids' school/sporting events. Bill's hobbies included woodworking as well as researching family ancestry and genealogy.
