William Hilliard Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 22, 2024.
FORT WORTH - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Henry Hilliard, III, who left us on December 15, 2024, surrounded by his family and closest friends. He was 36 years old and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bill was born and raised in Fort Worth and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 2007. He loved the outdoors and grew up camping, fishing, and hunting with his family and close friends. He particularly enjoyed annual family camping trips to Big Bend, where he loved to play with rocks and sticks (that became swords) and catch lizards by hand, all of which he used to playfully torment his sisters.
Bill had a passion for history (the more obscure, the better), movies, video games, and role-playing games. He spent countless hours with those he cared about mounting Dungeons & Dragons campaigns and engaging in friendly competitions.
From an early age, Bill displayed a unique artistic talent, especially drawing and jewelry-making. He designed handmade chains, earrings, and bracelets, which he joyfully gifted to his friends and family.
He is survived by his parents William "Hank" Henry Hilliard, Jr. and Nan Hilliard; his sisters Heather Brown and husband Cory and Allison Ellis and husband Kyle; his nieces and nephew; cousins; aunts and uncles; and a close group of friends.
His legacy of kindness, creativity, love of nature, and dedication and loyalty to his friends will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76107. Reception to follow at American Legion Post 626, 1125 Burton Hill Road, Fort Worth, TX 76114.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the JPS Foundation, the Autoimmune Association, or Fort Worth Animal Care & Control.
