William H. "Billy" Hoeppner

William H. "Billy" Hoeppner 85, of Bonita Springs, died April 10, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving wife, Rose, and his daughter, Sara. He was born August 11, 1937, in Lincoln, NE the son of the late Harold and Blanche (Gilsdorf) Hoeppner. Billy had been a resident of Bonita Springs since 2001 coming from Omaha, NE.
After graduating from Cathedral High School in Lincoln, he attended the University of Nebraska where in 1958 he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He then joined the family construction company and after many years it became known as Hoeppner Construction. During this time he also served as President of the Lincoln Homebuilders Assn. He operated the company into the mid 80's. He also raised cattle and was the owner of two pawn shops, one in Lincoln, NE, and one in Omaha, NE.
In retirement, Billy fell in love with painting as a hobby. He joined the Bonita Art Association and became an accomplished artist of many subjects. He also enjoyed golf/taking roses to all of his lady friends/and joking with youngsters to "guess a hand" in order to win a prize.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rose M. Sipe-Hoeppner of Bonita Springs, FL, his daughter, Sara Hoeppner McLoughlin of Lincoln, NE, and two sons, William David Hoeppner (Maribel Cruz) of Lincoln, NE, and James B. Hoeppner of Las Vegas, NE, his sister, Janet Stuermer of Sandy Springs, GA; two granddaughters, Jena Ockander (Jarod) of Osceola, NE and Morgan Langer (Derreck) of Shelby, NE and two great-granddaughters, Daphne Mentink and Ivy Mentink and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 1:00 PM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church 28300 Beaumont Rd., Bonita Springs, FL. A celebration of Billy will follow at Highland Woods Golf and Country Club clubhouse.
