William T Hummel "Bill" of Jenkintown, PA and Island Heights, NJ passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at the age of 85. Son of J. George and Dorothy Hummel, survived by his devoted friend and partner, Bonnie Lloyd, dear father to Elisabeth Hummel, Kerrie Deragon and her husband Marc, Tom Hummel and his wife Marcea, and Suzanne Smith; loving brother of Suzi Slack, Debbie Brick and Jack Hummel (d). He was a beloved grandfather to 10 grandchildren. He raised his four children with Mary (Snedeker). Bill attended Abington High School and received his bachelor's degree in psychology from Bucknell University. During college he enlisted in the Navy and graduated from the Naval Flight Training Program in Pensacola, Florida. He spent 9 years in active and reserve service flying helicopters for the Navy and traveled the world being well known for his flying skills to include a variety of challenging maneuvers including vertical replenishment of aircraft carriers to mapping Antarctica. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Hummel
After the military, Bill found his place in commercial real estate working for Jackson Cross for over a decade. He eventually started his own Real Estate Company, The Austin Thomas Company and developed Office Court at Blue Bell and later Office Court at Walton Point. A passionate pilot and avid sailor, Bill enjoyed his summers sailing competitively and casually with his family on the Tom's River. He was Commodore of the Island Heights Yacht Club and became a lifetime member.
Bill's family and friends are invited to celebrate with family and friends at a memorial service April 30th, 2022 at 11 am at the Cathedral of the Air in Lakehurst, New Jersey.
