William Michie Johnson, 68, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Carteret Health Care.
Michie was born on December 10,1956, in Durham, NC, to the late Philip Cephus and Emma Jean Johnson. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Michie was a diehard fan of the Duke Blue Devils and loved cheering on his favorite team, whether it was football or basketball. Michie enjoyed working in his yard, relaxing by his pool, and spending time in the backyard with his neighbors. Many memories were made with his children and family, moments they will forever cherish.
Known for his warm heart and friendly demeanor, Michie never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with a smile. He shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Mattie, who was always by his side. May his memory be a reminder of how wonderful a man he really was.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughters, Stephanie of Zebulon and Kristin Harvell (Mark) of Henderson; sons, Michael Johnson of New Jersey and Blake Johnson of Washington; sisters, Kim Baker (Wayne) of Raleigh and Cynthia Bradshaw of Beaufort; grandchildren, Olivia Ortega, Aiden Ortega, another on the way, and Cameron Johnson.
In addition to his parents, Michie was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Alan Johnson.
