Southwick- William Billy Alfred Koivisto 88, died April 15, 2025. He was the husband of 56 years to the late Barbara (Leighton) Koivisto.
Billy was born on June 2, 1936 in Westfield, MA, a son of the late Armas and Bernice (Besancon) Koivisto; and was a resident of Southwick for over 60 years. Prior to his retirement, Billy was employed by American Saw & Manufacturing Co., East Longmeadow as a lab technician. He was an honorably discharged Peacetime U.S. Navy Veteran. Billy loved the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family. In addition to his wife, and his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his son William Koivisto. He is survived by his children, daughter Brenda ODea (Robert Rich), Barry Koivisto, Bradley Koivisto (Kathleen); a brother Henry Koivisto (Joanne); six grandchildren, Kerry Paolucci, Eric ODea, Thomas ODea, Barry Koivisto, Julie Koivisto, Katie Koivisto; nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family will gather and receive friends and relatives from 4:00PM-7:00PM on Friday (April 25, 2025) at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick. A private burial will take place in Pine Hill Cemetery, Chester at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to : Baystate Hospice. www.forastiere.com.
