Southwick, Massachusetts – Andrea Mitchell, 77, of Southwick, passed away peacefully at her home on October 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and cherished pets. Born on November 28, 1947, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Daniel and Alice Mascalo, Andrea lived a vibrant life marked by curiosity, compassion, and an unyielding spirit of adventure.
Growing up in the close-knit community of Southington, CT, Andrea developed a deep appreciation for family bonds and the simple joys of everyday life. After raising her 4 children and building a fulfilling career in Connecticut, she embraced retirement by relocating to the serene landscapes of Massachusetts, where she continued to nurture her passions with the same enthusiasm that defined her.
Andrea's professional journey was one of determination and innovation; she founded her own company and worked as a dedicated real estate appraiser for many years, bringing her sharp insight and integrity to every assessment. Yet, it was her personal pursuits that truly illuminated her world. An avid lover of animals-especially cats and dogs-she opened her heart and home to countless furry companions, often surrounded by touches of her favorite color, purple, which mirrored her own lively and joyful spirit. Her wanderlust knew no bounds, leading her on numerous enchanting trips to Egypt, where she immersed herself in the ancient wonders and rich history that captivated her imagination.
Andrea's unbreakable spirit shone brightest in her family connections, none more vividly than in the stories she shared with her children. One cherished memory captures their shared sense of humor: during a visit to her daughter Torie, Andrea took a tumble on the walkway. Spotting the mishap from inside, Torie flung open the window and hollered, "She's down! She's down!"-announcing it like someone radioing for help-before rushing to her side. Though in pain, Andrea burst into laughter, and the two dissolved into hysterics right there on the ground. That joyful chaos became a family legend, retold with glee for years, a testament to the laughter that wove through their lives.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, Daniel E. Mascalo and Alice E. (Mazuk) of Southington CT. Andrea will be profoundly missed by her devoted husband of many years, Edward Saviske; her sister, Dr. Alison Mascalo and her husband, Gary L. Trinkle of Yorktown, VA. Daughter, Torie & Dr. Chris Delorie of Stratham NH. Her three sons, Arthur Mitchell of Pittsgrove, NJ, Eugene Mitchell of Taos, NM, and Scott Mitchell of Stratford, CT. Her grandchildren, Victoria (Madore) Leahy & her husband Patrick of Pensacola, FL. Hunter Madore of Denver CO. Ryan Mitchell of Mullica Hill, NJ. Eric Mitchell and his wife Melissa of Durham, CT. Joshua Mitchell and wife Rebecca of Meriden, CT. Michaela Mitchell of Meriden, CT. Gabriella Mitchell of NY, and Graham Mitchell of Stratford, CT. 4 great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends and extended family who were blessed by her presence.
A celebration of life and memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway,

Andrea's legacy endures in the stories she shared, the travels she inspired, and the unconditional love she poured into every life she touched. As she often reflected on the timeless mysteries of Egypt, may she now explore the eternal horizons with the same wonder and grace that guided her here.
