He was later adopted by his stepfather, Isaac LeRoy, and grew up in Chicago graduating from St. Rita High School in 1955. After graduation, Bill moved to his family's farm in Plainwell, MI. He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany from 1960-1962. On December 29, 1960 Bill was united into marriage with Janet Kolter of Cooper Township and they had two sons, William "Billy" Martin LeRoy, Jr. and Timothy Frank LeRoy. Bill worked for a number of years at Brown Company Papermill and then at General Motors as an electrician, where he retired after twenty years of service. Bill was also a volunteer fireman for Cooper Township for forty-five years, a member of the Otsego Elks Lodge #14, a member of the Allegan Eagles and the local Corvette club. Bill very much enjoyed playing with many local bowling and golf teams throughout the years as well. Bill was very active with Western Michigan University's Bronco Athletic Department having been a season ticket holder for forty-five years for the football, basketball and hockey teams and a member of the Blue Line Club. Bill is survived by his spouse, Janet (Kolter) LeRoy; his son, Timothy Frank (Angela Millis) LeRoy of Westerville, OH; three grandchildren, Tyler Franklin LeRoy (21) of the Kalamazoo Township Police Department, Rebecca Kathleen LeRoy (21) of Kalamazoo who will be graduating from MSU in the spring, and Kolter Michael LeRoy (13) of Westerville, OH; his sister, Estelle Mary Harbour of Portage, MI and his brother-in-law and spouse, Franklin and Joyce Kolter of Kalamazoo; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins in the Kalamazoo and Chicago areas.
