William Morrison Lux, Jr, age 80 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was born on November 23, 1942, in Bryn Mawr, PA, son of the late William M. and Alice (Mc Knett) Lux.
Mr. Lux grew up in Upper Darby, PA, a place he returned to often and kept close to his lifelong friendships. He graduated Upper Darby High School, class of 1960. Mr. Lux married Janet Lux, and the two would spend many beautiful years together with happy memories in West Chester, PA their home for the majority of their lives and raising their sons, Bill and David.
He enjoyed a lengthy career with the Philadelphia Electric Company, PECO as a troubleman, retiring in 2014 after 50 dedicated years. Bill enjoyed boating, fishing, crabbing, and water sports with his sons and family members. Throughout the years, he and his family enjoyed many holidays at their summer home on Old Landing in Rehoboth. After his retirement, he stayed active and enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Jessica and Kyle, who affectionately called him "Poppy.". He and his wife, "Nanet" were their biggest supporters at Sussex Tech High School where Jessica was a cheerleader and Kyle played baseball, soccer, and in his senior year, football. When Kyle received a scholarship to play baseball at McPherson College, KS, he enjoyed traveling to watch him play just as he did when Kyle played Little League & his dad was his coach in Lewes DE. Most of all Bill was a family man. He was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Loved by many, he will be forever missed by all who had the good fortune to know him and the many stories he shared.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lux was predeceased by his son, William Lux, lll; his sister, Alice Hunt Meyer,(Fred); and his brother-in-law, Kurt Seglum. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Janet Lux of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his son, David Lux of PA; his daughter-in-law, Alice Lux of Milton DE; his granddaughter, Jessica Lux Parker (Joshua) and their daughter, Aubrey Leigh of MS; his grandson, Kyle Lux of DE; his sister, Linda Lux Seglum (Brian & Danielle) of DE; his brother, Matthew Lux (Patty) of TX; his sister-in-law, Darlene Flanigan of CA; his brother-in-law, James Almeida (Amy) of TN. Bill also has many cousins, nieces, and nephews who enjoyed visiting and spend time at the beach on his boat, and having summer barbecues and crabs on the back deck.
