William Ronald Lynn, of Locust Grove, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at the age of 75. Mr. Lynn is survived by his wife Kathryn, of 53 years; sons, Brian Lynn (Azra), Nicholas Lynn (Kristy); 5 grandchildren; brother, Carl Lynn; sister, Diana Rowlls (Jeff); Brother-in-law, Robert Walch; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mr. Lynn was a member of Prospect Church at Oak Hill and a member of the Rebuilders Group. He was very active in the church choir, missions’ group, the church Christmas drama, truck stop ministries, jail ministries, Men’s meetings, and visitations. In addition, Mr. Lynn attended Riverside Military Academy and was an ordained minister. He served 20 dedicated years at the Atlanta Police Department as a detective and 14 years at Progressive Insurance Company as a senior fraud investigator. Mr. Lynn loved supporting his children and grandchildren through scouts, sports, band, and many other activities. He enjoyed traveling, especially out West. Mr. Lynn was an avid rifle and bow hunter/marksman, a whitewater rafter, and the lead singer of the Morlocks. He had a great sense of humor and was a people person who never met a stranger. Mr. Lynn had a unique personality that left a lasting impression on everyone that he met. Above all else, he loved his family and Jesus dearly. He was preceded in death by his sons, Jason Matthew, Jordan Michael; parents, William Harley and Alice Myree Lynn; and sister, Rosemary Tyson.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Lynn will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024, 11:00 A.M., at Prospect Church at Oak Hill, 6752 Highway 212, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family, Friday, September 27, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
