William "Bill" MacLellan, Jr.
William "Bill" MacLellan, Jr. passed away on June 20, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Joyce; his children, Carrie, Kate, and Doug; and three cherished grandchildren-Izzy, Owen, and Grace. He is also survived by his father, William Sr.; three brothers-Stephen, Eric, and Kurt; and two sisters-Beth and Nancy; and many extended family members and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Bill now joins his dear mother, Virginia, in eternal rest.
Born and raised in Dorchester, MA, Bill graduated from Boston Tech and UMass Boston. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an electrical engineer, retiring in 2019. More than 40 years ago, he and Joyce settled in Hanover, where they raised their family and built a life surrounded by a close-knit community of friends and neighbors. Bill took great pride in his home, especially in caring for his yard, and will be fondly remembered for his tractor rides and the quiet, steady way he lived.
A funeral service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Sunday, June 29th, at noon at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 17 Church St, Hanover. All are welcome to attend. A private burial will follow on Monday morning.
