Susan Carol MacLellan

Susan Carol MacLellan of Farmington, Michigan passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at the age of 83.

Susan was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 15, 1942 to the late Fred and Sally Pape. Raised in Detroit, she graduated from Cooley High School in 1960. She would then further her education at Central Michigan University and obtained three masters degrees in Art, Music, and Education from Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Oakland Universities. A true educator at heart, she taught kindergarten at Stevenson Elementary in Southfield, Michigan for 35 years.

Susan married John "Jack" MacLellan on January 30, 1970. The two of them enjoyed experiencing other cultures & traveled the world. They were active in Nomads and explored the globe together. She was also an avid golfer, having belonged to the Walnut Creek Golf Club, as well as the Huron River Club. Susan was also very talented in needle point, stamping cards, and all sorts of crafts. She also had many fond memories and always loved time spent at their family cottage up north near Grayling, Michigan on the North Branch of the Au Sable River. She was preceded in death by Jack in 2010.

Beloved wife of the late Jack MacLellan for 40 years. Dear sister of Karen Funke (Ted) and the late Carol Pape. Aunt of Julie Funke (Jay Goklani) and Annie Funke (Zach Roberson). Great aunt of Theodore Roberson. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Sally Pape.

Family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 1:00pm-7:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home 2600 Crooks Rd. (between Maple/Big Beaver) Troy, MI 48084.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00am.

Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan next to her beloved Jack.
