William Christian Mansfield

William "Bill" Christian Mansfield, 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Bill was born on May 9, 1948, in Niles, Michigan, to the late Robert G. Mansfield and Carol (Petersen) Thomas.
Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Leo Curtis and Carol Ann Mansfield.
Left to cherish the memory of Bill is his loving wife of 54 years, Sue Ann (Jones) Mansfield; daughters, Aimee (James) McIntyre and Ginger (Richard) McIntyre; grandchildren, Calee Irby, JJ McIntyre, and Cortez Price; great grandchildren, Tristen and Quincy; sister, Robalyn Benak, and several nieces and nephews.
Bill had a passion for sports, particularly Notre Dame football, Notre Dame Women's Basketball, and the Chicago Cubs, and he was a proud supporter of the Niles Vikings. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, which included hunting, fishing, and nurturing his vibrant vegetable garden, where he found great fulfillment.
Bill was known for his passion for golf, often spending enjoyable days on the greens with friends in Florida, Indiana, and Michigan. He also treasured his family trips to St. Ignace, where laughter and bonding moments were a staple of their gatherings. His closest friend lovingly nicknamed him "Mr. Bill," a name he embraced warmly, and friends and family fondly recognized him by this name.
As a proud veteran of the United States Marines, Bill honorably served his country and completed two tours in Vietnam. His service was a source of pride for him and a testament to his strong character.
Above all, Bill adored his grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to his life and whose laughter filled his home with happiness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to the Niles Vikings Athletic Department.
Visitation for Bill will be on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with a Memorial Service to be held at 3:00pm at Brown Funeral Home. Military honors will be rendered at 3:00pm.
