William McAbee Obituary

Born in Richmond, Virginia, Bill was the son of Betty Turpin McAbee and the late William V. McAbee II. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was owner and operator of McAbee Professional Wallcoverings.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Smith McAbee; son, William Jacob Brewer (Alexis); stepdaughter, Amy Strickland; step granddaughter, Olivia Strickland; brother, Edmund "Pug" McAbee (Paula) and their children, Lee McAbee (Jordan) and Drew McAbee (Jana); sister, Elizabeth "Libba" McAbee Vance (Kurt) and their son, Benjamin Vance; special mother-in-law, Norene Smith; and several special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm, Sunday, June 1st, at Sullivan-King Mortuary conducted by Bradley Saxon. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:15pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Bridge Center Recovery in memory of the Bill McAbee Scholarship Fund, 2403 W. Whitner Street, Anderson, SC 29624.

Bill was one of a kind. A fixture at J Harvey´s and other restaurants back in the day and always a great laugh! So sorry for your loss, Libba, and family. He is indelibly etched in my 80´s-90´s memories.

Bill was nine years old when I moved to Anderson to teach at Lakeside where his mom, dear Betty, was our school nurse. I loved her family so much and thought her children were absolutely the best! I still do! I got to visit with Bill, Betty & Pug a few years ago, and I cherish the memory of that meeting! Rest in peace and good health, Bill! You are missed, and you will forever be loved!
