William P. "Bill" McCart, age 87, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025. He was born on March 29, 1938 in Mitchell, Indiana to Otha and Lena (Ray) McCart.
He proudly served in the United States Army before starting a longtime career in accounting. Bill was a member of American Legion Post 133 in Alton, Indiana and had enjoyed traveling in his younger years.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his partner, J. Ralph Kessans and sister, Wanda. He is survived by his sister, Betty; as well as Ralph's extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Following the visitation, a committal service with military honors will take place at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
Bill's family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Village in Clarksville, especially Crystal, Ricky and Kim, for the excellent care they provided to Bill over the last few years.
