William L. "Bill" McCauley

William L. McCauley age 69, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025.
Survived by his wife of 39 years, Randi McCauley; sister, Ellen (Larry) Zeleznak; nephews, William P. (Melodie) Zeleznak, and Robert J. (Falysha) Zeleznak; great nephews, Alexandar and Nolan. Several family and dear friends also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, William (Marion) McCauley.
Bill's love for the Renaissance Fair was more than a hobby; it was a stage where he brought history to life as a performer. An avid outdoorsman, Bill found solace and joy in nature, hunting, fishing, and archery were his passions. His respect for nature was profound, and he often shared his knowledge and passion with others, fostering a love for the outdoors in the next generation. Beyond his work life, Bill was a creative soul with a deep appreciation for music and community. He was the visionary behind the Universal Blend Concert Series, which ran for nine successful seasons. That brought together artists and audiences, creating a vibrant tapestry of shared experiences and lasting memories.
Bill was a proud graduate of Providence Catholic High School, class of 1973, and furthered his education by attending St. Ambrose College and Quincy College. He retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation, after 30 years of service. Allowing him to build many lifelong friendships.
Bill will be remembered as a man who lived life with gusto, humor, and a sharp intellect. His legacy is one of laughter, learning, and the unmistakable warmth of a life well-lived. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Visitation for William will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers., donations made in his name to TLC Animal Shelter, 13016 W. 151st Street, Homer Glen, IL 60491 would be appreciated.
