Lupe M. Lesa, a lady of joy and laughter, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on December 12, 1941, Lupe's life was a testament to the power of humor, love, and friendship. She was a cherished member of the Providence Catholic High School's class of 1960, where she began to cultivate her lifelong love of knowledge and community.

Survived by her children, Elizabeth Palacios, Cynthia Lesa, Deborah (Andy Sr.) Lopez, and Patricia (Matt) Hudson; grandchildren, Joey, Jesse, Benjamin, Paul, Serena, Janel, Valerie, Andy Jr., Melanie, Torrance, Payton, and Logan; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ramirez, and Angie Garcia. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends also survive.

Preceded in death by her husband, Marcos Lesa; parents, Guadalupe (Librada) Ramirez; siblings, Jesse, Raymond, Roman, Richard, Howard, Joseph, Paul, John Ramirez, and Marie Moreno

After graduation, Lupe dedicated her professional life to the Joliet Public Library, where she retired after years of devoted service. Her work at the library was more than a job; it was a calling that allowed her to share her passion for reading with others. Lupe's warm smile and friendly demeanor made her a beloved figure among both colleagues and patrons, and her absence will be deeply felt within the library's walls.

Lupe's love for books was rivaled only by her love for her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom and sharing in their laughter. Her playful spirit and joy for life were infectious, and she was often the source of boundless fun at family gatherings. Lupe had the remarkable ability to transform ordinary moments into cherished memories, and her grandchildren will carry the legacy of her love and zest for life. Known for her quick wit and readiness to share a joke, Lupe was the life of any party. Her laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of all who knew her. She had an uncanny ability to lift spirits and spread happiness, and her presence was a gift that brightened every room. Lupe's sense of humor was a cornerstone of her personality, and those who were fortunate enough to know her will remember her for the smiles she brought to their faces.

In addition to her love for reading and family, Lupe had a beautiful singing voice that she joyfully shared with others. Whether she was singing along to her favorite tunes or serenading her loved ones, her voice was a reflection of her inner beauty and grace. Lupe's music was a source of comfort and inspiration, and it will echo in the memories of those she leaves behind. Lupe was the epitome of a life well-lived. Her funny, loving, and friendly nature made her a cherished friend, a beloved family member, and a treasured member of her community. As we say farewell to Lupe, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on our lives. Her laughter, love, and kindness will continue to resonate with us all, reminding us to embrace the joy of life just as she did. Lupe's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring power of a kind heart. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
