William McVeigh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home - East Louisville on Jan. 18, 2023.
Bill McVeigh, 71, of Louisville, KY and Naples, FL, was called home to eternal rest Sunday, January 15, 2023. Known to many as Leroy, Bill was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. His hard-won success as a business owner strengthened his drive to help others and there was always a seat open at his table. He was a mentor to many and his guiding principle was always to contribute in some way, to any situation. He gathered friends who became family everywhere he went. Passing out nicknames and sage advice were some of the things he did best. He truly made a mark on every life he touched, always for the better.
Bill was born May 19, 1951 in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents, William McVeigh Sr. and Betty (Beasley) McVeigh; and his sister Elizabeth McVeigh.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathy McVeigh, and his daughters Brooke (Mark) Mugavin and Kellie (Kip) McQueen; grandchildren Benjamin and Charlotte Mugavin; and siblings Walter McVeigh, Kathryn Orlandi and Thomas McVeigh; along with nieces, nephews and dozens of dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home of East Louisville,
(12900 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY) A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 23 at St. Patrick Catholic Church (1000 N. Beckley Station Road, Louisville, KY)
The family thanks you for your expressions of support and requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to: The Muscular Dystrophy Association or The Family and Children's Place.
