William Geoffrey Meek, 71, of Holland, PA died August 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Geoffrey was born in Washington DC and grew up in New City, NY. He moved to Holland from the Hudson Valley of New York 17 years ago. He was a graduate of Clarkstown High School and attended Syracuse University and did graduate work at Hunter College. He was an adjunct Professor at Parson's School of Design and the New School of Social Research. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force working on maintaining defense missile systems. Geoffrey was a self employed ceramic artist and designer. He did work for many including Nickelodeon, Ralph Lauren, Jim Henson, Red Lobster and many more. He had many passions including Drum Corp, Library Friends/libraries, food/cooking and feeding people. He felt that we all need to give back to our communities. While in New York he helped start Library Friends Groups, two AIDS Assistance organizations, ArtSpace, and build a new library in Middletown, NY. He was a regular cook and substitute director at the Guild of St. Margaret Soup Kitchen. After moving to Bucks County he continued his community work, serving on the Northampton Library Board of Directors, helping to get the new library built. He supported Heifer Project International through gourmet meal auctions and was a regular volunteer for Aid for Friends, cooking over 7, 000 meals in the past 15 years. Family was his ultimate passion. He was the son of the late William G. Meek and Ruth Watkins Meek, and the brother of the late Leslie A. Meek; he is survived by his loving wife, Julie Snarski; his sons, Cory Meek and his girlfriend, Nicole Mathewson, Michael Sleap and his wife, Katharine Grantz, and Donald Mu and his wife, Charlotte Liang; his grandson Jayden Mu; and was a loving brother – in law and uncle to Tom & Jim Snarski and their families. A Remembrance Service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Room at the Free Library of Northampton Township, 25 Upper Holland Road, Richboro, PA 18954. Children's books for the library to give away are being collected at the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to his charities: Aid for Friends, 12271 Townsend Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154; Heifer International, 1 World Ave., Little Rock, AR 72202 Arrangements are under the direction of the Saul Colonial Home, Hamilton Square, NJ
