Obituary of William John Meisel
It is with heavy hearts that the family of William John Meisel announces his passing on the 24th of March at the age of 87. Bill was the first-born son of Nicholas Meisel and Charlotte Stollmeyer of Staten Island, NY. As a young man he met and married the love of his life Patricia Ann Donor and together they shared 65 years of marriage. A dedicated New York State Trooper for 30 years, Bill was extremely devoted to his family of seven children as well as his community and held a sincere and ongoing desire to help those in need.
Bill, a firm believer in the power of education was the founding President of The Most Precious Blood School PTO. With Patricia he was a Main Street business owner for a decade, and later served as the Village of Walden Justice for 6 years and a Village Trustee for 2. Bill lived a rich and full life and the ripples of his time here with us continue through the dedicated families of his son Michael John and his wife Brenda, his son Thomas Edward and his wife Carla, his daughter Mary Theresa and her husband Greg, his son Edward Patrick and his wife AnnMarie, his daughter Lee Ann and her husband Herman, his daughter Jean Marie and her husband Thomas and his son Peter Andrew and his wife Jane. While proud of each of his natural children and his children through marriage, Bill's greatest pride came through his 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Bill's presence will be missed but his love and legacy will continue to prosper.
Funeral services will be held at Gridley Horan Funeral Home in Walden on Friday, March 28 th from 10:30 to 12:30.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in support of MPB School, or a random act of
kindness be performed.
