Mr. William Clarence Monday, age 86, of LaFollette, TN passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Clarence enjoyed a 30 year career working for the U.S. Tobacco Company, retiring at the age of 55 years old. As a devoted member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church, he was a former Trustee, and played a key role in the design of the new church sanctuary. Clarence was also active in his community through the LaFollette Utilities Caring Neighbors Program. He had many interests and talents and loved to draw. In his spare time, he loved flying airplanes, had multiple inventions, was a licensed HAM Radio Operator and had a sharp eye for architectural design. He had a deep appreciation for his classic cars and loved tinkering with them. Between all of his hobbies and the things he enjoyed, what he loved most was simply spending time with his family. Clarence loved the Lord and was a devoted husband, father, and papaw. He was deeply loved by his family. Preceded in death by Parents, Clayton and Nellie Mae (Miller) Monday, and Brother, Jerry Monday.

He is survived by his High School sweetheart of 66 years, Mrs. Dolores (Russell) Monday; Daughter, Shawna Hunley (Rick); Son, Gregory Monday; Grandchildren, Rachel Maley (Andrew), Alex Kitts, Victoria Mefford (Zach), Trevor Monday, and Jessica Monday; Great-Grandchildren, River Kapadia, Rhys Mefford, Isla Maley, Forest Maley, and Wren Mefford. Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives, and many special friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Cedar Hill Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Troy Arnold officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday, June 13, 2025, 10:00 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Grantsboro Cemetery for 10:30 A.M. Graveside Services and Interment. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. William Clarence Monday.
