William "Bill" Bruce Moran, 80, of Minot, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bill was born October 11, 1944, in Minot, the son of Llewellyn "Doc" and Grace (English) Moran. He grew up in Minot, where he was known for his friendly spirit and quick wit from a young age. After graduating from Minot High School in 1962, Bill carried that zest for life into every season that followed.

On May 15, 1965, Bill married the love of his life, Connie Hayden, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Minot. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Their journey took them to Grand Forks (1967–1969), Fargo (1969–1979), and eventually back home to Minot, where they raised their two daughters, Kathy and Julie. Bill and Connie shared 53 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2018, and his devotion to her never faded.

Bill began his working years at Kinney Shoes. He also worked for Acme Boots and Heileman Distributing Company, all jobs he spoke of often and fondly. He later found his calling as an investment broker, where his hard work, determination, and genuine care for people helped him excel with Inland Securities and later with Integrity Mutual Funds. He retired with the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of clients who became friends along the way.

Faith and fellowship were important parts of Bill's life. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and was a part of the Eagles Club, Moose Lodge, and several professional organizations. But perhaps his greatest joy came from the time spent outside of work-with a golf club in his hands, a hunting trip planned with his buddies, or simply sharing stories and laughter with the many friends who cherished his company. Bill and Connie also enjoyed trips to the casino, where their playful spirits made fun memories.

To know Bill was to love him. He had a gift for making people feel seen and welcomed. With a sparkle in his eye, a ready joke, and a knack for teasing, Bill lit up every room he entered. His magnetic personality drew others in, and his joy was contagious. As one of his nephews said so well, "Bill brought energy into any room he walked into."

Above all, Bill's greatest pride and joy was his family. He adored his grandchildren and never missed a chance to remind them of his love. Whether through his words, his presence, or the heartfelt messages he carefully wrote in greeting cards, Bill made sure his family knew just how deeply he cared. His legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on through them.

Bill is survived by:

• Daughter, Kathy (Mike) Sartwell

• Grandchildren, Megan (Jordan) Indvik, Billy (Samantha) Sartwell, and Makenna (Morgen) Martelle

• Great-grandchildren, Jackson Grundstrom, Emma Grundstrom, and Monroe Martelle

• Brothers, John (Janice) Moran, Dick (Debbie) Moran, and Tom (Charlotte) Moran

• Along with numerous in-laws, extended family, and dear friends who were like family.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved wife Connie; his daughter, Julie Gail Moran; his parents, Llewellyn "Doc" and Grace Moran; stepmother, Marge Moran; and brother, Bob (Maxine) Moran.

Bill will be remembered for the joy he carried, the laughter he shared, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is reunited with Connie and Julie, and that his smile and spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched.
