I did not know General Mullen but I had the occasion to read about him today. He service to our nation was extraordinary. I uploaded a photo because he deserves to have one on this site. What you see is a true American hero. Thank you, sir, for your leadership and valor.

Bill was my battalion commander in 1-2 IN. I was his scout platoon leader. When I was a major Bill, 1st Brigade Commander of the 1st Infantry Division assigned me to be his 5-16 infantry battalion S-3. After we both retired from the army Bill hired me to be be part of the Northrop Grumman Corp to lead a team of doctrine writers for the Infantry School.
Bill was a outstanding leader, mentor, commander and manager. Bill Mullen will be sorely missed.
