William Nelson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.D. Lee & Sons, Inc. Funeral Home on Dec. 8, 2025.
William H. Nelson of Rogersville, 54, passed away peacefully at his home on November 28, 2025.
He was born January 23, 1971, in Long Beach, California, to Howard Nelson and Shirley Pearce. On May 16, 1998, William married Traci Mace-Hunt in Branson, Missouri. Their marriage was a true partnership, filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.
William graduated from Nishna Valley High School in 1989, and later earned his degree in Computer Science from DeVry University. His career reflected his dedication to technology and problem-solving, but his greatest joy was always his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Traci; his children Wesley Hune and his wife Jacey, Cherissa Hamill, Aidan and Dylan Nelson, and Chance Nelson; his mom, Shirley Pearce Nelson; his siblings, David Nelson and his wife Della, Sondra Rosario and her husband Jerry, and Matthew Nelson and his wife Tammy; his grandchildren, Lili Hamill, Brayden Decker, and Austin Hunt; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Nelson.
William will be remembered for his great sense of humor and the joy he shared with Traci. Together, they built a life rich in laughter, resilience, and love. He also loved to cook, bringing warmth and creativity into the kitchen and sharing meals that became treasured family memories. His warmth, wit, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
To celebrate William's life and legacy, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2025 at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.
