William A. Ohrenberger, 81, of Weeki Wachee, passed away on July 10, 2025 at Tampa General Hospital in Brooksville. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 11, 1943 and was a graduate of Northeastern University. He also lived in Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Georgia before he came to Florida in 2000. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Ohrenberger (Canary) and also by his first wife of 42 years, Carol J. Ohrenberger (Landis). He is survived by his daughter Karen (Andrew) Monat of Massachusetts, his sister Barbara (David) Lane, nephew William and grandniece Kristin, also of Massachusetts, step-granddaughter Ashley Hall (Brian) of Tallahassee, brother-in-law Bill Miller of Tarpon Springs, two grandchildren, his beloved dog Bandit, and a number of friends.
Bill served as a captain in the United States Army. He also had a long and storied career in insurance risk management. He had a lifelong interest in ham radio, through which he met many interesting people from around the world. He was a keen genealogist and had a great interest in history. He enjoyed traveling to Europe and South America on cruises in his retirement. He loved good food, good times, and laughter with his many friends.
Services will be held at Florida National Cemetery at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Cancer Center.

I spent many years traveling and working with Bill and as a consultant to anything property. We had a great time together at Octoberfest and other venues around the world, I will miss his laugh and jokes, but he was a good friend who always tried to help. God speed Bill!
