William Thomas Owens

William Thomas Owens, 84, of Crawfordville, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. He attended and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1983. William proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. During his time in the Navy, he was a member of the rifle and pistol team. Following his military career, he served as a government contractor for 26 years and was also a devoted 25-year member of the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department in Lexington Park, Maryland. William loved to travel and enjoyed spending time camping. Above all, he cherished his family and the time spent with them.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Wanda Jean Owens; his three children, Susan Rodriguez (Juan), Deborah Settle (Allen), and Cynthia Price (Mickey); his brother, Charles Richard Owens; and two sisters, Jackie Gorsuch (Larry) and Susan Laird (Terry). He also leaves behind eight grandchildren - Jessica, Cynthia, Brandon, Christine, Michael, Holly, Brittney, and Shane - and twenty great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be considered at a later date.
